HOBART, Ind. (Sun-Times Media Wire) - An 83-year-old man has been charged with fatally shooting an attorney who previously served as a northwest Indiana judge.

William Landske, 83, was charged with a felony count of murder for the death of 64-year-old Tracy Edward Page, according to a statement from Hobart police.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired found Page dead with four gunshot wounds about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday at his home in the 1200 block of West 4th Street, according to police and the Lake County Coroner’s Office.

An off-duty officer who lives nearby had used his police radio to report multiple shots in the area as well as multiple people “screaming and yelling” and a person calling for help, police said.

Landske, whom police described as “a long time friend and client” of Page, was taken into custody when officers arrived.

An autopsy Thursday morning determined Page died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, according to police.

Page worked as an attorney with the firm Thiros & Thiros, according to the firm’s website. He served as a magistrate judge for the Superior Court of Lake County, Indiana, from 1984 to 2000, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Landske remained in custody without bail and his next court date was scheduled for Aug. 31, according to court records for the Superior Court of Lake County.
