One person is in custody after firing shots outside a church Saturday in Austin on the West Side.

A crowd was gathered outside about 1 p.m. in the first block of North Laramie Avenue when a “disturbance” broke out, Chicago police said.

Someone fired gunshots in the air, and responding officers took a person into custody, police said. A weapon was recovered on the scene.

No one was hurt, police said.
