CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - A Chicago nun is getting national recognition for her cooking talents.

Sister Alicia Torres is the newest champion of the Food Network's cooking show "Chopped!"

The 30-year-old nun was one of four finalists on the show's volunteer special who made a twist on traditional Thanksgiving ingredients.

Torres won $10,000 for Mission of Our Lady of the Angels in Humboldt Park. The group's mission is to serve home-cooked meals to the hungry.

Torres helped found the Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago on the city's West Side and recently professed vows. She says while she won't be hosting her own cooking show anytime soon, she knows that whatever is up next for her will be to serve God.
