A 23-year-old man was shot Tuesday night on Chicago's South Side.

Around 6:35 p.m., police say the male victim was in the 400 block of East 116th Street when he was struck to the back and chest by gunfire.

The victim took himself to Roseland Hospital in good condition, police said.

Nobody was reported in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
