Dan Ryan shooting slows mornings rush hour commute

There were no injuries following a reported shooting Tuesday morning on the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway near Chatham.

All southbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway were shut down for hours Tuesday morning as Illinois State Police investigated a shooting near Chatham on the South Side.

Troopers responded to a report of an expressway shooting around 4:36 a.m. on southbound I-94 near 87th Street, state police said.

No injuries were reported, but all southbound lanes were closed until 7 a.m. for investigation, according to ISP.
