Remember what you searched for in 2024? Well, Wikipedia has the receipts.
The Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit that hosts Wikipedia, released its most popular articles this year.
Politics dominated the topics, which may not come as a surprise given the major presidential election that happened this year.
A few familiar popular pages reappeared from last, such as the list of famous people who have died so far in the year, and the Indian Premier League.
For reference, last year’s most popular article was about ChatGPT - a topic that didn’t even make the top 10 list this year.

Wikipedia’s most popular article in February was about Griselda Blanco, whose story came to light when Sofia Vergara played the infamous Colombian drug lord in Netflix’s "Griselda."

March and April, Indian Premier League
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the biggest and most popular cricket league, with its season usually taking place between March and May each year.
May, 2024 Indian general election
International politics topped the list of popular pages in May, as India’s general elections were being held from April 19 - June 1 in several phases.
June, UEFA Euro 2024
The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship took place from June 14 - July 14 this year, involving 24 teams.
July, JD Vance
Wikipedia’s most popular article in July was about JD Vance, which is when he was selected and announced as Donald Trump’s running mate before the Republican National Convention.
