Chicago Police Department announces summer safety plan, with focus on increased downtown presence

If you are downtown this summer, especially on weekend nights., you will see a lot more police officers in and around Millennium Park.

CHICAGO - A woman was shot in Chicago Lawn on Sunday night while sitting in a car.

Police said the woman, 32, was shot by someone inside the car on South Kedzie near Mann Drive around 7:30 p.m.

Shew as hit in the armpit and hospitalized in serious condition.
