Backseat Rider: Jahmal Cole talks Facebook fellowship

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - He's made it his mission to expose teens in Chicago to life outside of their neighborhoods.

FOX 32's Anthony Ponce got to speak to activist Jahmal Cole in a very inspiring Backseat Rider.

At the beginning of the year, Facebook announced a very cool fellowship program for community leaders who have used the platform for positive change - they only picked 100 winners from around the world. Jahmal was one of them.

He is the founder of a group called My Block, My Hood, My City, which helps block clubs be more effective and also takes kids on urban adventures, some of whom have never been out of their own neighborhoods.

Jahmal recently returned from San Francisco, where he and the other fellowship recipients went to Facebook headquarters for training and mentorship and it also came with a $50,000 award.
