Chicago dog walker attacked by stranger's dog

CHICAGO (Fox 32 News) - A Chicago woman was attacked by a German Shepherd and required several stitches.

The victim, Robin Romine, was on West Huron in the Ukranian Village neighborhood about to pick up a client's dog to walk on Thursday morning when she encountered the dog and owner.

The dog was on a leash, but surveillance video shows it lunging at Robin's face. The man with the dog punches it in the head, hesitates, then leaves.

Romine ended up with cuts on her face that required stitches and spent most of her day in the emergency room, a friend said. That friend said she might need plastic surgery.

Romine co-owns West Town Walkers. The dog was unknown to her.

A GoFundMe page has been established to help her pay her medical bills.
