Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson was hospitalized Friday after doctors found a small blood clot in his lung.

The clot was found when Johnson went to Rush Medical Center for an annual stress test and physical.

The clot will be treated with medication and rest, a police spokesperson said. Johnson is in “great spirits and wanted to let everyone know that he appreciates the well wishes.”
