CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Mariam Pare is a true inspiration, turning a tragic injury into a beautiful gift. The Naperville woman became the victim of gun violence when she was just 20-years-old, suffering a spinal cord injury that left her a quadriplegic.
But she didn't let that stop her from doing what she loves - painting.
She now works as a foot and mouth artist creating beautiful works of art in an unconventional way.
Right now she's touring with her work across the country but she stopped at the Good Day Chicago studio.
She'll be at the Hyde Park Arts Center Tuesday, October 6 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
