Pair charged with shooting, seriously wounding 12-year-old boy
Two men tracked down by a police helicopter have been charged with shooting and seriously wounding a 12-year-old boy on the Near West Side earlier this week.
CHICAGO - Two men were charged in the shooting a 12-year-old boy that left him in critical condition on Chicago's Near West Side on Tuesday night.
Pedro Molina, 23, and Isaiah Renteria, 22, are accused of opening fire on a 12-year-old boy, two other 12-year-olds and some relatives as they went to a family party in the 1800 block of West 21st Place, police said.
"Looks like bad guys looking for someone to shoot," Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan said at a news conference at police headquarters.

A police helicopter tracked Molina and Renteria, who were traveling in a black Dodge Charger with no license plates that was seen speeding away. A helicopter tracked the car as it fled on the Stevenson Expressway and got off at LaGrange, where it was "immobilized by assisting ground units."

Renteria and Molina have both been charged with first-degree attempted murder. Renteria also has been charged with fleeing police.
The boy was shot in the right temple and was taken to Stroger Hospital where police said he is in "extremely" critical condition.
