SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - A 12-year-old girl was in “very critical” condition after she was struck by a car in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side Tuesday evening.

Six other people were hurt in the crash, which occurred about 6:40 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Vincennes, authorities said.

The girl was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in “very critical” condition, according to police and fire officials.

Another person was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition. Two people were taken to Holy Cross and two more to Trinity hospitals. All four were listed in good condition, according to fire media.

Another person was taken to Roseland Community Hospital and their condition had stabilized, according to fire media.
