Chicago curfew rollback clears city council committee

Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s plan to roll back the witching hour and age of Chicago’s seldom-enforced weekend curfew cleared a key legislative hurdle on Friday despite an avalanche of opposition.

A 13-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were shot in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood on Sunday afternoon.

Chicago police said that the boys were walking along South Essex around 4 p.m. when they were shot.

The victims told police they heard shots and felt pain.

No one is in custody.
