14-year-old boy shot in Englewood

A 14-year-old boy was shot Sunday in Englewood on the South Side.

About 2:20 p.m., he was near an alley in the 1300 block of West 64th Street, when he heard shots and felt pain, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the hip and brought to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition, police said.

Chicago police are investigating the shooting.

Would-be robber shot by concealed carry holder inside cell phone store in Chicago

A man on the scene shot the robbery suspect in the chest and abdomen, police said. It is not clear if the man was the owner, employee, or another customer. Police said the shooter had a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
