Governor Bruce Rauner signed a bill into law Friday that makes the former commander-in-chief’s birthday, August 4, “Barack Obama Day” in Illinois.
Senate Bill 55 passed through both the House and Senate without a single ‘No’ vote. The bill makes August 4 an honorary holiday and not a legal holiday, which would have given Illinois workers the day off.
August 4, 2018 will mark the first ‘Barack Obama Day’ in Illinois.
