A man in west suburban Aurora was charged in connection with a crash that led to the deaths of three people on Chicago’s South Side last year.

Vicente Rodriguez, 20, was arrested in St. Charles, Illinois, on Friday and charged with three counts of reckless homicide with a motor vehicle, Chicago police said.

Police said Rodriguez was the person who caused the crash on Feb. 18, 2023, in the 10000 block of South Halsted Street. The crash killed a 21-year-old man and two 20-year-old men.

Rodriguez was expected to appear at a detention hearing on Saturday.
