The Aurora Police Department is announcing the newest addition to their ranks, and shes not your typical officer.

AURORA, Ill. - The Aurora Police Department is announcing the newest addition to their ranks, and she's not your typical officer.

Meet Sadie, the department's first-ever bloodhound K9 officer.

Sadie's first day on the job was Monday, following eight weeks of rigorous training. Unlike other police K9s, Sadie has a specific and vital role in the force—locating missing individuals and aiding in the search for suspects.

The Aurora Police Department welcomes Sadie to the team, and knows she will help keep the community safe!
