Bibb County mother charged in child's death

BIBB COUNTY, Ga. - A mother was arrested Wednesday night after deputies said she likely played a role in her baby's death.

Bibb County deputies charged 21-year-old Carla Pounds with first-degree child cruelty.

Investigators said pounds called 911 Wednesday morning to report her one-year-old boy De’Yuntis Pounds was found unresponsive.

Deputies arrested pounds a short time later.

Following an autopsy on the infant Thursday, Pounds was charged with murder.

Details surrounding the incident as well as the full results of the autopsy were not immediately released.
