CHICAGO - A 16-year-old boy was charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a Northern Illinois University student last October in the Englewood neighborhood.
The teen was one of several suspects who shot and killed Alijah Addison as he was leaving his sister's house in the 6900 block of South Peoria Street, officials said.
Addison was shot in the back and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The 16-year-old was arrested Wednesday in the 6400 block of South Calumet Avenue. He was charged with first-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
Addison was a sophomore at NIU, according to a family spokesperson.
