CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - The installation of a new pedestrian bridge this week will shut down Lake Shore Drive near 41st Street on the South Side.
The closures, originally scheduled to start Wednesday, were delayed by severe weather, the Chicago Department of Transportation said.
The new schedule will close southbound lanes of Lake Shore from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday, CDOT said. Northbound lanes will shut down from 9 p.m. May 11 until 5 a.m. the next day. On May 12, both directions will be closed from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m. May 13.
The closures will allow crews to install structural beams for the new 41st Street pedestrian bridge.
