BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. - An elderly man was killed by a car while walking along Buffalo Grove Road Monday morning in the northwestern suburb.
The 87-year-old man was walking along the road around 8 a.m. when he was struck by a Toyota sedan near the Larraway Drive intersection. Paramedics took the man to Northwest Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The 60-year-old woman who crashed the sedan was taken to the same hospital for precautionary measures.
Police said no charges or citations have been issued at this time.
Village officials said Buffalo Grove Road was closed between Thompson Boulevard and Deerfield Parkway for roughly four hours and reopened by noon.
