Chicago man arrested after attempted carjacking, home invasion in Little Italy

CHICAGO - A man was charged after an attempted carjacking and a failed home invasion minutes apart Monday in Chicago's Little Italy neighborhood.
Jonathan Morris, 38, allegedly tried to carjack a handicapped 62-year-old woman around 2 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Laflin Street, according to police. Minutes later, Morris attempted to break into a home in the same block.
Morris, of the Lawndale neighborhood, was arrested roughly 90 minutes later. He was charged with attempted aggravating vehicular hijacking of a handicapped person, criminal trespass to a residence and aggravated battery of a victim over 60 years old, all felonies.
Morris has a detention hearing scheduled Wednesday. No further information was provided.
