Chicago crime: Man in critical condition after being shot in the head on the South Side

CHICAGO - A man was shot in the head Friday afternoon on Chicago's South Side.

At about 3:48 p.m., a 37-year-old man was on the street in the 8600 block of South Damen when he was shot in the head by an unknown offender, police said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
