30-year-old man shot another man who was kicking apartment door: police

CHICAGO - A 30-year-old man is accused of shooting another man who was allegedly kicking his apartment door in Back of the Yards Wednesday night, police said.

The incident happened around 8:46 p.m. in the 700 block of West Garfield Boulevard. Police say a man was outside an apartment unit kicking the door, when a 30-year-old man inside the apartment shot him.

The victim was shot in the abdomen and taken to an area hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

The 30-year-old remained at the scene and was taken into custody. Police said they also recovered a firearm.

No other injuries were reported. Area One detectives are investigating.
