Driver injured in fiery crash on Dan Ryan
An SUV burst into flames after it slammed into the back of a semi-truck on the Dan Ryan Expressway. The driver of the car was pulled from the wreckage by the semi-truck driver. The injured driver was transported to an area hospital in critical condition
CHICAGO - A person was seriously injured when their vehicle slammed into the back of a semi-truck on a Chicago expressway Tuesday night.
The accident occurred in the southbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway at 8:40 p.m., according to Illinois State Police. .
A Jeep SUV rear-ended the semi-truck, apparently at a high rate of speed. The driver of the truck pulled the driver of the SUV out of their vehicle, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The Jeep became engulfed in flames. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
