Woman sexually assaulted by man who broke into her West Rogers Park home: police

A woman was sexually assaulted by a man who broke into her West Rogers Park home Thursday morning.

The incident occurred around 2:50 a.m. in the 6000 block of North Avenue. Police say a man entered the 27-year-old woman's home, displayed a knife and sexually assaulted her.

The offender also stole personal property before fleeing the scene.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital in fair condition.

Police described the offender as a Black male, between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot, with a medium build and a tattoo on his face. He was wearing all black clothing.

No arrests have been made. Area Three detectives are investigating.
