A police chase that began on Chicago’s Northwest Side ended Friday on the city’s South Side, leading to the arrest of two people.

The pursuit started around 3:39 p.m. when Chicago police responded to a traffic crash involving an on-duty Downers Grove police officer in the 3200 block of West Addison. The suspect, who was driving a Nissan Rogue, fled the scene.

During the pursuit, the driver switched vehicles with another person, taking control of a minivan. Part of the chase, captured by SkyFOX, showed the minivan swerving erratically on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

The chase came to an end near 71st and Vincennes in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, where officers stopped the minivan and arrested two people after a brief foot chase.

The Nissan Rogue was later recovered.

The investigation is ongoing.
