Ice jam floods roads in Wilmington, Illinois
An ice jam is wreaking havoc in Wilmington, Illinois.
WILL COUNTY, Ill. - An ice jam sent freezing water down Wilmington roads Monday afternoon.
The jam was reported on the Kankakee River near Phelan Acres and Bardwell Island.
According to the National Weather Service, this flooding is expected to persist for at least the next week, and potentially even longer.
This comes as Chicago and surrounding suburbs are experiencing dangerously cold temperatures.
