CHICAGO - A line of powerful storms barreled through the Chicago area on Tuesday evening.
The National Weather Service said it is investigating four areas where tornadoes might have touched down in the suburbs.
Per FOX 32's Mike Caplan, tornado damage will likely be investigated in at least the following areas: near Hinckley, near Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, in the Inverness/Schaumburg area, and along the shoreline in Gary, Indiana, where a waterspout moved offshore.
Travel was impacted at O'Hare and Midway airports because of the severe weather, with ground stops put in place as the storms passed through.

In Vernon Hills, several trees on Woodbine Circle that were 100+ years old were knocked down by the powerful winds. One resident said he was lucky his house wasn't struck by the trees.
Viewers in the city and suburbs documented the storm's fury as they experienced everything from rainfall to hail. Some viewers even reported seeing tornadoes.
