COOK COUNTY, Ill. - A 30-year-old fugitive who has been evading Cook County authorities since 2021 was arrested after returning from Texas.
The Cook County Sheriff's Office announced Derrale Esther's arrest on Friday by the Sheriff's Fugitive Apprehension Unit.

What we know
Esther was apprehended on several outstanding arrest warrants issued in Cook County in 2021, including charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 9 and violation of electronic monitoring, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators learned of Esther's whereabouts after he returned from Texas.
He was located in Manteno by law enforcement and taken into custody.
Esther is currently being held in the Cook County Jail.
What we don't know
Details on what led to Esther's charges have not been released.
The Cook County Sheriff's Office has also not disclosed when he is set to appear in court or what sentencing he could face.
