K9 named after slain Chicago cop Ella French celebrates first birthday

The Cook County Sheriff's Department is celebrating a special birthday.

COOK COUNTY - The Cook County Sheriff's Department is celebrating a special birthday.

K9 Ella turned one year old on Wednesday, and she got to enjoy some birthday treats.

The sheriff's department says Ella is still in training, learning to trail the human scene so she can search for missing people and criminal suspects.
