Some big changes are in store for Cook County employees as the Board of Commissioners has passed a new paid leave ordinance.

Some big changes are in store for Cook County employees as the Board of Commissioners has passed a new paid leave ordinance.

The ordinance replaces the sick leave ordinance and will go into effect at the end of this month.

Under the new policy, Cook County employees will earn at least one hour of paid leave for every 40 hours worked.

Additionally, they can use paid leave for any reason.
