'Cop on a Rooftop' elevates for a good cause
CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS) - You might be seeing cops in odd places on Friday.
The 14th Annual Dunkin' Donuts Cop on a Rooftop event is taking place at dozens of locations across the state Friday from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help raise funds for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois.
Police officers will be perched atop participating Dunkin' Donuts to raise awareness about the athletic competition and help fund the widely successful event.
Customers who make a donation to the cause will be given a coupon for a free donate. Those who donate $10 will receive a stainless steel coffee mug and a coupon for free coffee. Remember: 100 percent of all donations benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois.
In 2015, 195 locations participated and raised more than $542,000.
