CTA Orange Line service temporarily suspended

Service on the CTA Orange Line was temporarily suspended Monday morning. CTA says the disruption was due to track conditions. Shuttle buses are available.

Orange Line service has been temporarily suspended due to a derailment Monday morning, according to the Chicago Transit Authority.

Service was suspended between 35th/Archer and Ashland due to a minor derailment at 6:30 a.m.

The CTA says there were about 20 passengers aboard the train when there was a ‘comparatively minor’ derailment.

Most of the line was shut down earlier in the morning. Now, trains are running between Midway and 35th/Archer and Ashland and the Loop.

Shuttle buses are available between Midway and Adams/Wabash to provide connecting service.

The CTA is working to restore service, but customers should allow for extra travel time.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
