Chicago police officers respond to bomb threats on CTA Red Line
Bomb squads and K9s were spotted at several stations Tuesday afternoon.
CHICAGO - Bomb threats targeting the CTA Red Line prompted a police response at multiple stations Tuesday afternoon.
The Chicago Police Department’s transit division shared video on X showing K-9 officers conducting a homeland security sweep at the Roosevelt station.
The heightened security comes after a threat, reported through a CTA database, claimed bombs were placed at the 47th Street, Garfield, and 95th Street stations.
The threat indicated that police had until Sunday to locate the bombs.
While sources suggest authorities do not consider the threats credible, officers have been actively patrolling platforms and stations to reassure residents and maintain safety.
The investigation is ongoing.
