CTA worker hospitalized after being shot in Archer Heights

An employee with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) was shot on Chicago's Southwest Side Tuesday afternoon.

A supervisor with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) was shot on Chicago's Southwest Side Tuesday afternoon.

According to the CTA, a 55-year-old man was outside near 47th Street and South Archer Avenue when a passenger from an unknown vehicle began firing shots in the direction of the victim and others.

The 55-year-old man was shot in the right thigh and was transported to an area hospital in good condition.

As the offending vehicle fled, a witness fired his weapon at the offender.

The witness has a valid CCL.

The bus supervisor was not the intended target. 

There are no offenders in custody. Area detectives are investigating.
