CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - The 2015 Chicago Cubs' World Series dreams came to an abrupt end at Wrigley Field Wednesday night.

The New York Mets brushed aside the Cubs 8-3 on Wednesday night for a National League Championship Series sweep. But despite the heartbreaking loss in Game 4, Cubs fans are already looking ahead to next season.

While many fans in Wrigleyville were feeling blue, they were proud of their North Side boys. It was a fantastic and thrilling season, as the Cubs weren't expected to have this run this year.

"I am proud of all those guys. No matter what's said, we're going to have a good team for a long time to come," one Cubs fan told FOX 32 News.

Fans say the team's playoff run makes them even more excited for next season to get here.

The 2016 home opener is April 11 against the Cincinnati Reds. We'll be ready to #FlyTheW when that day comes.

As always, Go Cubs Go!
