Massive back ups reported on I-94 following 9-vehicle crash
At least 9 vehicles, including three semi trucks, were involved in a pile up crash on westbound I-80/94 Wednesday morning. All lanes remain shut down at Cline Avenue. Driver were asked to avoid the area.
HAMMOND, Ind. - Extensive delays were reported on westbound I-80/94 in Northwest Indiana Wednesday morning following a huge pile up.
At least nine vehicles, including three semi trucks, crashed North Cline Avenue in Hammond at about 6:50 a.m.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Glen Fifield told drivers to avoid the area at all costs. The roadway was backed up six miles right after the pile up.
The Indiana Department of Transportation was reporting delays upwards of two hours at 8 a.m.
Drivers were encouraged to use alternative routes like Indiana Toll Road, US 20 or Ridge.
