Two men posing as potential renters Thursday in Ukrainian Village stole jewelry from a 73-year-old woman.

FOX 32 spoke to the victim and her daughter-in-law who says after she realized she was being robbed, she confronted one of the men and then chased them out the door.

Video from a neighbor’s surveillance camera shows at least one of the men pretty clearly, and the victim’s family is hoping someone out there recognizes them.

All of this unfolded Thursday afternoon in the 1000 block of North Wood in Ukrainian Village. Martha Espinoza was home alone. Her family was renting a room upstairs when one of those men knocked and asked about it. He was joined by a second man who went inside while the first man stayed downstairs.

At some point, the victim’s daughter-in-law says Espinoza realized what was going on and caught one of the men downstairs filling a pillowcase with cash and jewelry.

Espinoza speaks very little English, so her daughter in law told FOX 32 her story.

“She's shaken up because she's thinking about all the things that could have happened to her,” Crystal Espinoza said.

One of the men made off in a gray SUV, perhaps a Chevy Equinox.

In all, they were able to get about 500 dollars cash and gold jewelry.

The family has taken the "for rent" from in front of their home and now says they will be working with rental agencies in the future.
