Extra SNAP benefits set to expire for millions nationwide

CHICAGO - The extra benefits allotted to the Federal Food Assistance Program -- known as SNAP -- is set to expire this month.

Extra allotments to the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program began during the Covid-19 pandemic, and helped over 41 million Americans.

Anyone expecting to be impacted are advised to contact their local SNAP office or the hunger hotline.
