CHICAGO - A fire tore through a two-story home in Chicago's West Humboldt Park neighborhood on Thursday afternoon, prompting a large emergency response.
The fire began around 12:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Drummond Place.
When firefighters arrived, they said the house was "fully involved" and called for additional resources.
Fire crews used tower ladders but encountered low water pressure due to the wintry weather, officials said. The water department also responded to assist.
Six people evacuated the home on their own, and no injuries were reported.
"It took a while to get it under control," said Robert Jurewicz, district chief of the 2nd District.
By about 3:30 p.m., firefighters had the flames under control.
More than 100 firefighters responded to the call. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
