Four-vehicle crash in Marengo leaves one critical, two hospitalized
A four-vehicle crash in Marengo left three people hospitalized, including one airlifted with critical injuries, officials said.
MARENGO, Ill. - A four-vehicle crash in Marengo left three people hospitalized, including one airlifted with critical injuries, officials said.
The crash occurred at 4:21 p.m. Thursday, just west of the intersection of W. Grant Highway (Route 20) and Thorne Road.
Emergency crews found a four-vehicle crash, including one vehicle that had overturned.
A man and a woman inside the overturned vehicle sustained significant injuries, according to Marengo officials. The man was airlifted to Javon Bea Hospital – Riverside with critical injuries, while the woman was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.

(Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts) A man driving a pickup truck involved in the crash suffered minor injuries and was taken to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Three other people involved in the crash were evaluated by paramedics at the scene and declined further treatment.
All occupants were out of their vehicles before first responders arrived, and no extrication was required, officials said.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
