Woman shot while inside vehicle on Chicago's South Side; no suspect in custody

CHICAGO - A woman was shot while driving on Chicago's South Side early Thursday. 

The incident unfolded around 12:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of West 82nd Street. Police say a 27-year-old woman was traveling in a vehicle when she was shot in the buttocks. 

She was taken to an area hospital, where she is listed in fair condition.

The woman told police that she was shot by someone who may have been traveling in a vehicle.

No suspects have been arrested, and Area Two detectives are investigating.
