Gunfire strikes Chicago police car in Burnside

A Chicago police squad car was struck by gunfire Monday morning in the Burnside neighborhood.

Chicago police officers were driving just before 3 p.m. in the 9400 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when shots were fired in their direction, striking the rear-window of their marked squad car, police said.

Police officers did not return fire and no one was injured.

No one is in custody. Area Two detectives are investigating
