Hammond hospital downsizing starting in August
HAMMOND, Ind. - One of northwest Indiana's oldest hospitals is severely shrinking.
Franciscan Health Hammond announced it's going to cut the facility down to just a tenth of its current size.
The hospital is set to go from 225 beds to an eight bed care hospital with an emergency department.
Franciscan will demolish parts of the hospital it's no longer using.
The downsizing will start in August.
