Homicide investigation underway after man shot multiple times in South Chicago

CHICAGO - A man is dead after being shot multiple times in South Chicago Wednesday night.

At about 7:08 p.m., a 29-year-old man was near the sidewalk in the 8700 block of South Escanaba when he was shot multiple times in the body, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

No offenders are in custody. Area detectives are investigating.
