1 injured in Illinois house explosion

One person was injured after a house explosion in DeKalb County Tuesday.

A house exploded in DeKalb County Tuesday afternoon.

The explosion occurred around 1:39 p.m. in the 5800 block of Goble Road in Earlville. Upon arrival, officials said the house was leveled.

One person was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Multiple surrounding agencies responded to the scene as the house remained on fire.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.

Earlville is about 70 miles west of Chicago.

The explosion came one week after a house in Woodstock, about 60 miles northwest of Chicago, blew up in a natural gas leak. That blast leveled the home and damaged at least 10 buildings, including a church and a school, officials there said.
