Food delivery driver fatally shot in Chicago

A drive-by shooting in Humboldt Park left a delivery driver dead and another in critical condition.

A drive-by shooting in Humboldt Park Saturday morning left a delivery driver dead and another in critical condition. 

Police say two men, ages 31 and 32, were in a vehicle in the 1400 block of North Avers Avenue when someone in a blue SUV fired shots toward them. 

The incident happened at approximately 3 a.m.

Both victims were transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. The 31-year-old man was shot multiple times and later pronounced dead. He was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as Tramon Thomas.

The 32-year-old victim was shot in the left leg and torso.

Both men were working for Uber Eats at the time of the shooting.

"It’s disheartening to report on such events, and our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time," Ald. Jessie Fuentes said in a statement.

No arrests have been reported. Area detectives are investigating.
