CHICAGO - Oscar-nominated actor John Malkovich is returning to his Chicago roots, taking to the stage at the Chicago Theatre this Thursday.
The acclaimed actor is starring in the live show "The Music Critic" which features live performances of some of the greatest music composers of all time – while Malkovich reads scathing reviews that the musical legends received from the local critics of their time.
Malkovich has a long history of live stage performance in the city of Chicago, having gotten his start at the Steppenwolf Theatre. He spoke with FOX 32 Entertainment Reporter Jake Hamilton all about how our city impacted the actor he would become.
"Without a lot of Chicago critics who didn’t always love what we did," Malkovich said, "we wouldn’t have survived one summer, let alone still have a company of 40-some odd years."
